There are lots of health studies done by many researchers about the connection between physical exercise and mental health benefits. Many people don’t know that exercising on a daily basis can help them to become a mentally healthy person also. Recently some researchers at the Yale School of Medicine published a health study to show an association between physical exercise and mental health. This case study was done by the researchers on a large group of people who exercises on daily basis, and according to Dr. Adam Chekroud who led this research, it’s essential to analyze a large number of peoples. In this research, more than 1.2 million people were examined according to their age, gender, physical health. It’s been concluded that those who exercised had 40 percent good mental health as compared to those who did not exercise.
According to Dr. Adam Chekroud those people who exercise moderately have the best mental health conditions. It’s been found that those people who exercises 3-4 times a week have excellent mental health. Researchers believe that a person needs to do at least 120 minutes of physical exercise which will help them to maintain attain a unique physical and psychological health. However, this case study did not reveal what kind of activity a person shall do to keep a healthy body, but those people who participate in team sports have the best mental health.
Many health experts believe that team sports can help to attain good mental health as compared to another type of physical exercises. The results of the case study are positive, but it also shows there’s a strong correlation between physical activity and mental health. The Wealth Organization has been promoting the culture of team sports and many good physical exercises also there’s a need for more such type of health awareness programmes in the USA.
